The biological father of my son, age 7, has told me he is willing to give up his rights. I just need to find a form to send him to sign. Does anyone know where I can find that? I have already found a petition for adoption form legal for Alabama, which is where I live. He lives in Georgia. I really want to try to do this without a lawyer, just paying filing fees to the court. I have spoken with a lawyer and know that we will have to have a hearing.

Are you saying you have a husband willing to adopt your son?

I don't think there is any way around getting out of having a lawyer.
