My porch has a slanted roof. The roof has a soft flexy metal layer. I believe the metal is in rectangular sheets since I can see seams. There is a silver coating on top of the flexy layer that is peeling off.
Also of note, the gutters are built into the roof. Most of the time, everything appears to drain properly. But when the weather gets icy, the roof begins to leak - most notably through the gutters, which have the most peel.
My plan was to scrape off the peeling stuff and recoat the roof with a new batch. But I haven't been able to figure out what that coating is. Hardware stores either don't know what I'm talking about it or tell me that they no longer carry it.
I would appreciate any advice you might have.
Best,
Michael
