Hi

My garden is watterlogged all year round - most of the grass area is constantly damp !

Is there a cheap drainage solution or plants that love water!

We planted 10 trees last year and lost all but 4 !

They were 6 umbriciflerra?
And 4 Laburnums ! £300 in total

Help !

I am below the water table in my garden, right next to lake ontario and we have had monsoon rains for the last two weeks. Thankfully I have all perrenials, hostas, hydrangea, kiwi vines, cedars, maple, english and german ivy (which is going crazy and taking over everything!). etc. seem to take the dampness. I keep my fingers crossed and don't go out there, because if I do, I cry! No kidding. I hate to say this but all you can is raise a lot of it and install the black plastic pipe to take excess water away from the critical areas.

You could have drainage tile installed in your soil beneath the garden. Is the grading sloped toward your garden? Do you have clay soil? Perhaps you could plant a raised bed to increase drainage.
