Do you have a legal defense? Is the debt out of Statute (by your State's laws)?
Inability to pay is (unfortunately) not a defense.
If you owe the debt and were legally served (and it would appear you are) you can delay Judgment by demanding proof of the debt - but if the creditor is correct you may be wasting your time. We have people who posted that they demanded proof of the debt, the creditor couldn't locate it and the Judgment was not granted.
Is the amount correct? Is it your debt? Is it within the Statute?
