I have a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator. It has an ice and water dispenser on the freezer door. It has not made ice in over a week. I can get water from the door but there is absolutley no ice in the ice bucket or in the ice tray. I can usually hear the water filling the ice tray but I haven't heard it filling the tray. The ice maker is definitely turned on. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
- Kerry

You might look at this link (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/appliances/ice-maker-not-working-208363.html).

There could be a number of problems from a clogged water line, to a bad valve, or bad icemaker. Let's start with the cheapest and easiest first.

Good luck,

I just bought an electrolux side by side with a jsi26 ice maker. I am on my second one and have only had 9 ice cubes in three weeks. I am told by the tech that replaced my first one, there was a batch of bad ice makers sent out. So far I have spend over $2300.00 and have no ice. I went to the store manager last week. Not until I called him back, has he even talked to me. Is this any way to run a business? I called customer support and they sent out the tech to look and fix. All he did was open the door, replace the ice maker and leave. Short of getting violent, what is to be done?

That is very frustrating, to say the least. Since the second one also failed to make ice, I would call them again(!) and tell them it is still not fixed. If you make yourself a big enough pain, they will eventually fix it to make you go away. Just stay level-headed and patient (although I know this gets difficult). If the refrigerator came with the ice maker, and is still under warranty, tell them you want an entire new refrigerator. Chances are, they would rather fix the ice maker than exchange the whole refrigerator.

Hope this helps,
WallyH

I certainly wish I had done more research before I boughy the Electrolux I currently have. What a piece of crap. I'm on my third ice maker in 16 months. Luckly I bought the extended warranty, and Electrolux did extend the warranty one year when I made my first call. What a laugh, they said I should not have had this problem on a new unit. To bad they know fully well the side by side french door unit is garbage. The service tech said that the ice maker is the worst design he has ever seen.
