Can I hang dry wall on my framed wall as it is or do I need to add wood blocks between the rafters at the top and bottom and at the ends against the brick wall. My old rafters are buried under the spray foam, the new 2x6 rafters are sistered to the old ones and are visible. Against the brick wall I could scrape away the spray foam and tack a 2x2 to the old rafters. But I would prefer not to have to do this tedious work. One brick wall is going to remain exposed, but the other will be framed and drywalled.

I think you will be OK without additional back framing. I assume the solid wood panel is at the plane of the rafters and I believe your foam is below the plane of the rafters. You should contrive to have a joint close to the middle of the unframed area. After the first panel is applied, slip a 1x4 under the edge of the panel and screw through the drywall (you ARE planning to use screws, I hope) so that it will reinforce the joint across the unframed space.

Cut away a bit of the foam if you must to leave room for the 1x4.

It might be best to go to 5/8 drywall for this little area.

The unframed area is actually a space for a roof window. It was accidentally foamed with insulation, and the plywood is covering a temporary hole that was used to get wood into the room.
