 My dog was hit by a car three days ago by a van. He is being super picky about eating and sometimes refuses to eat at all, and I've only seen him poo once, it was dark and runny (very little). His breathing is labored also, but I believe it's due to brusing of the lungs. Please help! I will take him to the vet if necessary, but wanted to see what my options are before I spend a boat load of money. Should I wait it out for a few more days? If so, what are some things that I can do?

Animal cruelty. You must take him to the vet now he has internal injury and is shockey. He won't make it much longer on his own. If you can't take care of him properly you should reconsider owning a dog in the future, take him to the vet now.

Yes, three days ago when he got hit by a van is when you take him to the vet. "take him to a vet if needed"?? I am sorry if it was you or a child, would you wait 3 days. If you can not afford to keep a pet and pay for its bills one should not have a pet, They should be getting a lot of medical care thougout the year but always when injured

I am glad I do not know who you are or I would have turned you in for animal cruelty  If it was your kid I would feel sorry for it but at least I would hope you would have taken it to the hospital. TAKE THE DOG TO THE VETS NOW!!

Quick diagnosis off the top of my head: internal bleeding, possibly broken ribs and potentially a collapsing lung. This needed to see a vet days ago, and by delaying you have most likely made your bill higher, since they now need to deal with things that have happened since treatment was delayed.
