Recently I had to turn off the water to the house due to a washing machine ordeal. Two days later the upstairs 28 year old toilet starts a trickling cistern fill. I read an answer on this site that said "Take the valve apart and clean it.". Problem is I don't see any screws inside the cistern or any "valve" except for the valve at the water flow connection (stop) under the toilet. What "parts" in the cistern can I clean out possible debris clogs AND HOW (remember no screws are visible)? I managed to disconnect the thin tube and blow through one end which produced a bubbling so I don't think there's any major clogging in that area. What else can I do to unclog any debris clog resulting from the pressure change when the water was turned off and on? Thanking and appreciating help in advance! UPDATE: I tried turning off at stop valve under toilet and flushing; then turned valve on again and IT STARTED FILLING LIKE IT SHOULD!! Alas, the next flush the slow fill was back! Aaaaaargh! What is the problem?!
