I live in a village with plenty of children in it and the odd teenager, but I'm not good friends with any of them, not for six years anyway.
They're all nice to me, and I do call them my friends, but I'm just not the same as them, I'm a bit of a freak and don't fit in.
Well, my dad won't get off my case when I'm in the house all the time, but that's because I'm alone in this village, my closest friend is 6 miles away and we can't see each other that often in the hollidays, and my best of the best friend lives the furthest from me, in the middle of no where.
Im happiest at school, or when I go out shopping because they're with me all the time, but I don't have enough money to take a bus or train to see them everyday, and it's the six weeks holiday (technically 7 weeks) I work as waitress and I get to see two friends then, but again they aren't close. What do I do? My dad gets angry at me very easily so I'm stuck. :(

Its tough to make new friends, but you have to understand as you get older... you make new ones, you lose old ones... People drift apart. You need to be open for new experiences, and enjoy life.

Yes I'm open plenty, but this village hasn't changed in the 16 years I've lived in it, neither have the people, we all know each other and get on, but that's not my problem! It's the fact that I have NONE of my best friends here and can't be myself around anyone else! I am friends with these people, there's no one to be new friends with, its just agrivating that I have no one I can properly talk to, and have to act like them so they don't start to hate me because I'm different!

Im all the way in New York, Im from Michigan... I have none of my family or friends here. I have my boyfriend, but that's it. I understand what your going through. Friends you grow super close to are hard to come by.. they accept you for you. But, you have to understand... They aren't always going to be there... and you need to let yourself become closer to others. If they don't accept you, these people you say are your friends that aren't your BEST friends... How can you call them friends then?

I like your signature quote. Have you explained to your dad why you "prefer" to stay in the house? How about writing him a short letter explaining. He can't change the villiage any more than you can. If he were on your side, things would be more bearable.

My dad is mean and stubbourn.
They ARE my friends because we've liked one another for 10 years, its just since we went to high school we've become a little different, steryotype wise, I don't believe in it but the differences are there, they've all gone to a completely different high school to me, and have gone "chav" whilst I'm in the "scene/emo" part, so there's a bit of a wall, even the way we speak is different! Sometimes they say things I don't understand, and vise versa.
Im only worried about this 7 weeks holiday, because usually I'd see my friends everyday at school and every other weekend when I'm not working, but I can't afford to see them every day now and its annoying!

When I was about 14ish I lived in a village like yours. Like you there were people my age that I called friends but they wernt proper friends. I had a few best friends and they all lived in another village about 3miles away but there was no bus or anything so I spent summers in my house. I mostly read and it past the time so I never complained. The odd time my mum would try make me go out but I hardly ever did.

Yeah, but did your dad yell at you for being "lazy" and in the house all day? Its not my fault, but now I'm doing this excersize thing with this girl who looks out for me, she's my mams best freiends daghter, but my mams friend too, so we get along and she's really motivating so my problem is solved for summer now, if I'm not at work or out in the town, I'll be walking or biking with her
