I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 washer that stops during wash cycle with an "HF" error and the door locks and won't open

The F H error message is there is no water in the unit.

If the door is stuck closed, you have to remove the front panel and pull the manual release. Of course, you unplug the unit first.
