Hi, I just got a new malamute puppy last night, and he is 7 weeks old. When will his ears stand up ? And is there any way to help the ears stand up? Thanks a lot.
Paul.

Some dogs' ears stand up at 7 weeks, but others take up to 6 - 7 months, after the teething has occurred.

For you to help the ears stand up, some trainers suggest you do certain exercises for it to become more "alert" while others suggest you tape the ears, but for this, I would first consult with your vet about whether you should, and the proper way to tape the ears.

It took about 3-4 months for my siberian husky's ears to stand up totally. It was really cute because for about a month one of the ears were erect and the other was still floppy. He looked like the littlest hobo:p

Haha, my long haired chihuahua (yes... long haired... chihuahua)'s ears are like that.

One up. One floppy. She's 2 years old... so I'm assuming she'll be that way forever. I like it.
