We have two garage doors and each has a separate garage door opener. We keep a remote in each of our two cars for the car's respective garage. The remote in the car works OK to open the garage door and the button inside the garage works OK too. Inside the house we keep a Touch n Go Digital remote - it has dual controls that is programmed for each respective garage door. Recently the remote quit working for ONE of the garage doors - but continues to operate OK for the second door. We changed the battery and checked the settings to make sure they match the garage door opener settings. All OK. What part could have gone bad? It is a mystery to us that the remote works on one door but not the other. When we press the button we hear a faint buzz, as usual, but the door does not open. What da you think?? :(

Not sure whether this might fix the problem. Disengage the door from the auto raising remote. In other words, open the door manually. Then re-engage the remote to close the door. See if the remote fixes itself. Check the chain and run of the door controls if they are not out of alignment.
You might open and close the door manually---check the run of the door on the pole.

The installer would have given you some way of checking certain actions of the door.
A manual of sorts might clue you in on just the sort of problem you are facing and how to rectify. A call to the installer or the manufacturer of the door or its controls might have to be considered.
Many times a website might allow you to ask questions directly to the manufacturer... and.or the installer.

Chances are that one opener has lost the code being sent by the digital remote. Follow opener manufactures instructions about programing. Usually they are something like; Enter the code in the remote and press the "Learn" button on the opener with in a specified time.

Fixed it. Had to e-mail the mfg to find out where the LEARN button was and how to activate it.

I am having a similar problem with my Touch n Go garage door opener. Where is the learn button on the opener?

Hey hlat,
I see that you fixed the problem. Where is the learn button?
Thanks

Hi guys, I wish I could remember where the learn button was. Apparently I emailed the Overhead Door Co in 2008 and they showed me. I do remember that it was in fact marked - oh so faintly. It would be on the open remote where you can see the slide code bars. After depressing the learn button for a few seconds a green light blinks then becomes solid. After more incidents of half working half the time we finally replaced both 25 year old openers last summer and I gave all the parts to the young man who installed them for us and pitched all my Overhead Door notes. Hope the new ones last 20 years.
