I'm getting divorced and one of the things my X husband wants is access to my home computer to prove "my chat usage". I readily admit I chattted during our marriage and my computer is right in my living room, no secret there. I am wondering what a normal average non expert can pull from my hard drive (if anything). Can he get my chat transcripts, emails from my Yahoo account? He is not a computer guru, but smarter than the average user. Also, does anyone know how long you can find info off the hard drive? I chatted mainly in 2005/2006. Thanks so much!:)

Even if you deleted it, it is still there just the file name has been erased. I would imagine it would depend how determined he is to find what he wants. All he would have to do is Ghost the hard drive and take it to an expert and get the info he is seeking.

Not too expensive

Online Privacy Utility - Windows Privacy Software. Scan, Clean, and Remove all Internet tracks. (http://online-privacy-utility.qarchive.org/)

Erase Remove Chat with CyberScrub Software (http://www.cyberscrub.com/topics/delete_erase_remove_chat.php)

Norton Ghost is a cheap program that allows you to copy everything on a hard drive.
