I have a Confort Maker air conditioner that has stopped running. The fan went out the other day... my husband bumped it a few times and it came on. Now it has completely stopped running and IT'S HOTTT! Can someone tell us where to began?

First switch off and let unit cool down.
Than turn your thermostat high, so that there is no air con function. Only ventilator.
Switch the air conditioner "on". Is the ventilator running?
Raise the thermostat to below room temperature. Does the compressor start? Any strange noises?
Any indications on the thermostat? Please note them down.
Any warning lights ?

If necessary you can come back to the board and discuss your findings!
