Hi
I'm 26 years old and have been having a few problems down below for the past 2 months.
I first niticed I have what I think is hemmorids which I got a cream for but hasn't helped much. Now my vagina is really dry and itchy and I'm so unconfortable with it.
When I was havinbg sex on Saturday it was so painful. I've also lost a stone in weight over the past 2 months without even tryng, I feel really tired all the time & cry over the most silly things.
Does anyone know what maybe heepening to me? I'm a bit scared of doctors and embarrsed to talk about these kind of problems so any advice online would be great! I just want to know whatswrong woth me :(
Thanks
Rachel

Rachel,

Unfortunately you are going to have to go to the doctors about this. You will need an exam to see exactly what is going on. I would like to say you may have a yeast infection, but I don't know for sure. I would hesitate to say you have an STI, but I don't know for sure.

You need to see an OB/GYN about this. They hear these problems every day, trust me, I am an OB nurse. It is nothing new to us and nothing to be ashamed about. This is your reproductive health you are concerned about. If you ever want to have children in the future you need to take care of yourself and schedule an appointment with your doctor.

Hi Rachel,

I have to go with J_9( above ) on this one.

Yes, you will have to visit your doctor, he will probably take a swab from your vagina to send away for analysis.
Don't worry it only takes a minute and is painless... a bit like when you have a smear test.

The fact that in general your not well, suggest to me that you could have a general infection... maybe.. Thrush, this is quite common and can be treated very simply, I wonder does your boyfriend/partner, have any symptoms? Men can also get this.

There is actually a product on the market called... CANESTON I think, you will find it in any chemists, sometimes a supermarket, this has been proven to treat the symptoms of Thrush, very well.

Go into your local pharmacy, explain your problem... there is usually a facility for privacy, plus it's usually a woman anyway, ask for their advice and if CANASTEN would be suitable for you... usually it's only one dose, which is also good.

If you choose to try.. CANESTON and it solves the problem, please still visit your doctor just to get check out .

Hope you feel better soon
