My husband abandoned myself and child 01/14/2008. I hired an attorney 03/12/2008 after doing paperwork myself and he agreed up until I got done w/paper work then decided he was fighting for custody. He didn't want divorce at first but now does. He's been real vindictive through this and sending a lot of letters (lies) to courts and my attorney. The situation now is I'm out of work and have no income. Wanting to go back to New York where my family is. Husband is in Pennsylvania. Once in New York I would like to get legal aid to help, is this wise. If I stay here in Florida I will become homeless.

Why ca't you just get a job where you are at?
But you may have to continue the divorce in the area where you last lived as a couple. There are specific residency laws so unless he agrees to move the trial it may be hard to stop it at this point.

I am from Florida and because of your situation, there are many agencies that can help you with your case. There are services provided by the state to help no-income single mothers. Please do your research before you jump into a decision that you might regret later.
