Hey guys, I've been gone awhile and am now back to my project.

I have two 1.5" revent lines going back to my main stack. One is the laundry tub from the basement. The other has been wyed and hosts the kit. sink and the bath tub and sink. I would like to use a 1.5" wye and join them into my main stack as one connection. Should I then immediately convert the 1.5" wye to 3" and then tie in? I guess I wonder if I'm in violation because of my fixture units exceeding capacity for the brief period of the 1.5" wye. That is, until is is expanded to 3". Sorry its fuzzy, its hard to put into words.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I want to pass inspection.

Hi Louie, welcome back.

I'd had felt a lot better if yourvents were 2" instead of 1 1/2". But at 1 1/2" you fall just under the fixture load limit with the kitchen sink, tub and lavatory. Adding 2 more fixture units to the line puts you 1 fixture unit over the limit for 1 1/2" vents. How ever connecting the two 1 1/2" vents to a 2 X 1 1/2" wye and connecting to the main vent as 2" should pass your inspection. Regards, Tom

Thanks for the speedy response Tom,

I do have access to the wye which connects the two 1.5" vent lines for the kit. sink and the bath lav and tub. Would it be better to change that wye to a 2 X 1.5" wye and then tie in that 'new' 2" revent with the laudry 1.5" revent via a 2 X 2 X 1.5" wye (if that exists) and then into the main stack?

you bring me clarity and confidence, thanks so much

Works for me. I think if you increase the vent size to 2" at the main vent connection that it will increase the fixture units required.
Go git them tiger! Cheers, Tom
