We just got a new dog we found wondering the streets for days. We took him to the vet and paid a hefty price to get him all checked out. The dog doesn't bark, I mean he triies, he just doesn't have a voice.. it's so cute because he triies so hard and really thinks he's doing something. The vet said it's okay and I also read that dogs of his breed (Silk Hair Terrier) tend to have esophageal problems. The problem we're having is that my dog won't drink water. We've triied everything. Fresh water of course daily, new bowls- round, large, small. We put boullion cubes in the water for flavor, we've squirted it down his throat with a syringe (that was fun-not) and I've even put water in my hand so he could drink from it... I can get him to drink a little if I stand or kneel over him, then he'll drink a little and kind of throw up a bit-- I wonder what's wrong with him... Please help, sometimes he's out all day in the hot weather and I'm afraid my little dtr will loose her precious little "Bobby".

Didn't the vet have anything to say about it?
How old is he?

Well when we took him to the vet it was only 2 days after we got him and we didn't notice the severity of it (no water) Bobby is 2 years old according to the vet.
