I have a 4000 sqft home with high ceilings and 3 AC units. I want to keep my electric bill as low as humanly possible. I keep the thermostat set on 80.It seems that the AC units run all day one right after another. What is the best temp to set?

Thanks

With high ceilings, it would be wise to invest in ceiling fans.

Have you had the a/c`s serviced lately? It pays to make sure the units are doing all that they can do,can save money in the long run

Well my house is 4000 sq ft and I have 2 AC units. That are american standard. We have are big uint at 75 and the small one at 75 it keeps the house real cool during the summer and bill is not that much. But you may want to get some selling fans. And get the ac untis checked. See we had 2 old units in are house and we had to set the big one at 65 and the small one at 68 that just ran are bill up one mouth we had a bill that was $700 just because the units were running. So we had someone check them out for use he said that the small one stop working. The house was biult in 2004 the units put in the house were 24 yrs old. But then they worked good. The owner did want to spented any more money so bought used units. We bought the house in 2006 and its paided for. In 2009 during apirl we had a hot day the units just stop woring. So we an american standard guy to come and look he said you need new units the two outside are 30 yrs old. So me and my wife spent $12,000 on two new units. The big one cost $6,700 that's with taxs the small one costed $5,300 yeah that's a lot but its was worth it
