My wife recently received the Kaoom Never Scrub product in the mail. The setup is very simple... Replace the fill tube by hooking up one tube to the fill valve, then sticking the other tube down the overflow pipe. viola... However, I did this, and no water. I realized my 1b1 Master Mark IV sends water out of the bottom and not the top where the Kaboom tube is to be placed. Any suggestions?

I take it that "1b1 Master Mark IV" is your fill valve. Most, if not all, supply valves send water out the bottom to fill the tank and out the refill tube to fill the bowl. If you notice the water out the refill tube doesn't have much pressure. It's all designed inside the valve. The slightest restriction will stop the flow of the refill tube. Apparently the Kaoom Never Scrub provides enough resistance or restriction to stop the flow. Sorry, it just ain"t going to work.

The problem with the Mark IV valve is that in my applications, the top fill stem is still sealed. There was never a tank fill hose connected to any of the three I have. I would imagine this is due to low water usage feature of the valve. In order to make the Kaboom product work, a small 1/16" hole needs to be drilled in through the valve stem to allow for water to flow. I do not recommend doing this if you are not familiar with tools, and I especially do not recommend power tools. Power tools around water tanks are not good, and they are to aggressive since the rubber seal and pressure valve are on the other side of the entry point of the drill bit. Again, do not try this unless you are competent with tools. It is not worth the potential flood.
