OK, I don't know if this question falls under this category, but here goes.
I recently got a Palm Zire 21 (yes, very high tech, I know:rolleyes: )
I also recently got a Dell XPS M1330 which is running Vista. When I installed the Palm desktop software, it installed fine, but it will not run the program which installs apps to the PDA. I have to do it manually, which is a pain. It will also not run the NotePad application or the Money application on the desktop.
Any way to fix this?
Thanks,
Sre

By "the program which installs apps to the pda" I'm assuming you mean "quick install?"
Do you have the most current Palm Desktop and quick install version?
Also, for the money app, do you have the conduit installed properly?

Have you checked with the various sites to see if there are updated drivers for Vista? I had problems when I was using a Palm OS device with some apps not loading the installer in the right place.

Yes, Technologically Illiterate computer user that I am, I mean Quick Install. :)
I installed the software that came with the Zire 21, which I got at a flea market in April.
I have no idea about the conduit.

Scott-
I asked the "Live Help" tech on the Palm website back in April, and he said that it didn't work with Vista, but he made no mention of any Vista-capable software.
Any ideas of where to look for one?

ISneezeFunny-
The website says that that software is not recommended for use with devices not listed, and Zire 21 is not listed. The only suggestion they have for these is to do what I am already doing. I suppose that means that I have no other option?
P.S. I hate it when nothing works.

Oh, I'm terribly sorry... I didn't even think to look for the zire limitations... as I was hoping Palm would be a good enough company to allow compatibility for all this mess... but... I guess they want you to buy a new palm if you want it to work on your new dell.
Yikes!
To be honest with you, I'm not so sure if you have any other options...

Well that's what you get when buying at a flea market.
What did you pay for it, $10, $20?

$10. :)
Good guessing. :)
Oh well, I'll just keep doing it manually. I just have it for fun anyway.
Thanks, Guys.
