I have been told by many people that the house I live in has a lot of history. I was told it was one of the first houses built in norton mass. The nortons use to live here . Then I heard it dates back to the bennett family and they were witches. I have heard these stories from many different people and the stories are the same. How can I find out the history of my home and see if these stories are real or not. I have seen a few things that I can't explain as well as my neighbors.

You could try if this still works...

Round about the cauldron go :
In the poisoned entrails throw .
Toad , that under cold stone
Days and nights has thirty-one
Sweltered venom sleeping got
Boil thou first I' th' charmed pot !

Double , double toil and trouble ;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble .
Fillet of a fenny snake ,
In the cauldron boil and bake ;
Eye of newt and toe of frog ,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog ,

Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting ,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing ,
For a charm of powerful trouble ,
Like a hell-broth boil and trouble .

Double , double toil and trouble ;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble .
Cool it with a baboon's blood .
Then the charm is firm and good .

( W. Shakespeare )

The recorder of deeds would normally show , at least to a point, who the recorded owners of your property were.

There should be a local historical society you would want to speak to them. Then your local library may have historical papers on the area that you can look over.
Expect these types of searches to often take years, even a life time.
Also often depending on how often and how seriously remodeled, papers and other items are found in between walls, in crawl spaces and around forgotten places
