Hi,

I have applied for change of status from f2 to f1 to start full time studies from end of Sept, but I am worried if I will get the approval on time. I got approval for H4 which is to start on Oct1st. In case I don't get the f1 approval on time will I be eligible to start school from end of sept?

I appreciate your help.
Thanks!

You may have 2 different types of visa at the same time but you can only use one at a time. So if you already entered US with H-4, once the semester begins, you must leave and re-enter US in order to have your passport stamped as F-1.

Thanks for your reply. I am currently in US on F2, and applied for f2 to f1 COS from within US and since my spouse got h1 approved, I got approval for h4 and the status starts from oct1st. My question is, I will not be able to enroll in school with an F2 visa. So am I eligible to enroll for full time study in sept as I have H4 approval starting from Oct... this is in case my f1 approval gets delayed?

Thanks again.
