If I don't go to the court ordered alcohol treatment program for my 3rd dui received over a ten year period, what are the chances the court will seek me out for non-participation if I am not involved in any situation that would involve police contact i.e. traffic stop or anything else that is crimminal?

Hello p:

They'll put a warrant out for you. If you happen to avoid ANY police stop in the future or you don't plan to travel, you very well could avoid capture. In my view, that isn't likely, however. What? You're going to stop drinking and driving??

Yep, violating a court order is just like committing a new crime, you could go to jail for it. You didn't mention if this case was being supervisied by a probation officer or not, if it is , that person is obligated to check on your participation in the program and report to the judge any non-compliance.

If there is no probation officer involved, you can expect that the program itself is under some obligation to notify the judge if you don't participate.

I was a PO in MD for 7 years and can guarantee you that when a court order like this one is put in place, there is a means to ensure that it is being complied with. In my state they would likely send the sheriff to your house once the judge hears about the failure to complete the treatment he ordered.
