Do you currently have an original iPhone? You can install the iPhone 2.0 software onto the original if you do have it. Unless you're willing to be locked into another 2 year agreement with ATT. I have an original iPhone, still contemplating on whether I should switch to the 3g myself.

To be able to purchase an iPhone 3G for the posted $200, you have to agree to a new 2-year agreement, if you already are a member of AT&T, you have to re-new your plan and set it up with the iPhone plan at the time of purchase.

and the most basic plan (450 minutes, data plan, no text msg) will run you $70 + tax/fees = around $80 a month.
Apple's been having some compatibility issues with their new 3G network, but all the kinks are being slowly worked out.
IMO, I personally love the iPhone, but find it useless compared to a blackberry. But this is, of course, the case if you actually need to run apps that run on blackberry like money managing software and word documents.

This is why I'm currently running my jailbroken iPhone with the 1.1.4 firmware, allows me to run all types of applications you'd find on blackberry and what not.

But I only want the iPhone 3g and not the plan lol I am already a at@t member I just brought my LG Shine like 5 or 6 months ago but I don't know if I buy the iPhone 3g will it add the plan I already have like paying it double the one I already on and the iPhone 3g one?

No, you have to lock yourself into another 2 year agreement, with the new iPhone data plan (I believe it's about $90/month)

Hello:
I LOVE my iPhone. I just got done watching a YouTube video, and playing a very cool game I downloaded for free. The bluetooth signal stays on as compared to my last phone. I think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
