1st time post. Hi all. I have a 16.5 hp ohv briggs model 313777 (new to me) and when it started it ran fine then started to push blue smoke. Ran well just smokes and I mean really smokes, wife thought I was burning the shop down. I am about to check the valves and I did check the crankcase vent which had a small amount of oil present. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Machinist

Yeah it should be the valves.
