House wiring in the ceiling has black, white, red and ground( bare). Remote wiring has black. White and blue(for lighting). Black to black and white to white is OK. What about red and blue?

Huh? Something does not sound right.

Most separate remote units I have seen have had black and white for the line in and black, white, blue that get spliced to the fan.

Can you give us more details?

Assuming you actually have what Stan is saying:

Black OR red from house, and white from house, to black and white pair from receiver.

Black white and blue from receiver to black white and blue from fan.
