My husband was arrested in LA where he is being supervised for GA. He was caught with pills that he did not have a prescription for them on him and DUI. The police didn't see him driving and can't charge him with DUI, but he can produce prescriptions for the pills.

The PO is holding him and has been holding him for 40 days but hasn't heard anything from GA. Can they continue to hold him? Are there time limits on how much time the PO has to notify the other state. A hearing was held, but it wasn't held until 26th day after the arrest. They used LA paperwork and the PO told me that GA did not request the hearing. I am beginning to think that they don't know what avenue to take themselves.

There should be no time limits as he will have to go back to GA for a probation violation hearing but he may have to clear up his LA problem first, then get sent back to GA for the POV hearing.
