What city or town (and state) is the first place in the U.S. on which the sun rises? Thank you

The Aleutian Islands extend from southern Alaska across the Bering Sea towards Kamchatka, Russia.

Because the islands cross the international dateline, they are both the furthest west and the furthest east that you can possibly go, both at the same time. They are at 180-degrees longitude, which is 180 degrees East of Greenwich, England, and also 180 degrees West.

The time of sunrise and/or sunset depends both on one's location and the time of year, so the answer is: it depends. Consider for example what happens at or above the arctic circle - in the summer months the length of daylight is quite long, and actually there are times when the sun never sets. So some times of the year the earliest sunrise and latest sunset would be in Alaska, above the arctic circle. On the other hand, at the time of the equinox the earliest sunrise and sunset will occur at the place furthest east longitide - which I suppose would be either the Aleutian Island as Nohelp4u suggests.
