This was a single circa June/July 1970. A one-off by the artist I think. It was a melody type of song with a compellingly persistent chorus tune. As I recall the chorus lyrics start: "Wouldn't you like to know I love you, Jump on a plane and take a ride, Come on before I forget you.................."( the last chorus line which I forget but ends rhyming with ride)

One day I looked in my email inbox and found a message from Ask Me Help Desk. It was a reply to a question I had posted almost a year before while not really expecting ever to get an answer. It was about an obscure, evocative and forgotten song from a glorious summer long ago and yet impossible to forget. A few chorus lines were all I could offer while the whole pervasive melody remained locked in my mind. Very little to work with to be sure. Yet now across the years it returns complete and every bit as good as I remember. Many thanks Govpavlicek.

So I guess we should be thanking each other! Anyways: I was 1 years old back then, so no direct memories. Heard the song somewhere in the mid or late eightees I guess and it stuck in my mind. I was looking for "I take it back by Sandy Posey" and finally found that one (my father played it on our trips to Portugal, so also summerm memories there) and thought: lets give it another try and look for "Wouldn't you like to know I love you" and was lucky to see you added the next sentence. With that info, it was found within a minute! You can also find Richard Barnes singing it on YouTube, original performance in 1970. Internet has its advantages... Greetings from The Netherlands!
