I sent a 30 day notice to the housing authority (Section 8) to state I was leaving because I thought I found another home. The housing authority has acknowledged my letter and notified my landlord that they would no longer receive housing payments since I sent my letter that I was moving. Basically because they thought the house would be empty on July 1st. Unfortunately the house I thought I was going to get in by the 1st of July wasn't available. I am not sure it will be. Am I no longer able to stay in this home since Section 8 has stopped paying the landlord? Does this end my lease or contract with this property? Will the house revert back to a regular rental property because my letter ended my relationship with the landlord by saying I was leaving? Should I be looking for a new place to live?

These are all questions you have to work out with HUD and your landlord. Your landlord is still entitled to the full amount of rent - regardless who it comes from. Do you know if you can get your HUD benefits back, or will you go to the end of the line now? If you still have your HUD voucher you need to get this house back on the books so your landlord can get paid. If you've lost your benefits you need to find a way to pay the landlord for the month of July.
