What you're describing I believe is the way most Windows applications already work. I'm not sure what you're asking for that is different.

In Word, or Outlook, or Works, or Excel, or even when surfing, pressing CTRL-P brings up the Print Options dialogue box. In there, I can click OPTIONS or PREFERENCES or ADVANCED and get the options you're talking about.

Some PRINTERS install their own utility even more powerful when you first install the printer, but it is still accessed the same way and you find even more detailed printing controls, but this would be found on your printer's install CD.

If it's an HP laser printer then it's really easy with the Universal Printer Driver. You can create virtual printers with different characteristics for the same physical printer. This you can have printers like HP XX Draft, HP XX High and HP XX Customer.

This is only one way to use the driver. I just have virtual printers based on Simplex and Duplex printing.

It's confusing to set up, because it's not like any other Windows printer driver.
