My husband left in 2005, then filed for divorce at the urging of his girlfriend in 2006. I signed the paperwork. He never followed up and now has to start over. I have since moved on with my life. If you want the divorce, you retain an Attorney and file for divorce. If he wants it, then he files - and pays.

If one of you files and the other one wants to make sure the final order is 100% fair, then you both need Attorneys.

Have you checked with the Court and determined that the paperwork was never filed or is no longer good - ?

If you can find him and have him served, you can request that he pay your attorney fees. If you can't locate him and have him served, you can still get a divorce, but you will have to pay for it.
