I have a Westinghouse comet ceiling fan in my bedroom which was controlled by two separate switches, one for the fan and one for the light as I entered the room. To change strength of the fan I had to use the pulley system on the fan itself. The problem is now the main switch can now only control the light and fan together, so both are on or both are on or off according to the remote settings. I would like to know whether it is possible to rewire so I can use the main switches as before, and use the remote control in conjunction with those switches?? (I understand that if I have turned off the light or fan from the controls I won't be able to turn them on from the main switch, but if they are both on, is there any way I can rewire to turn the light and fan on separately using the switches as I had done prior to fitting the remote control unit?). Thanks!

You can either control the fan and light from the wall switches, or from the remote. Not both. Sorry.

The only option is to buy an RF wall control that is compatible with the remote system.
