My husband recently moved into my house and brought his dog with him. He has always been good at his house and was trained to go outside to go potty but now that he's here I'm seeing a totally different side to him. We let him outside regularly and before we leave to go anywhere. Even if we're sitting right there in the room he will pee right in front of us. It doesn't matter if he was outside just 5 minutes before. We started putting him in my room because it's darker carpet but it started smelling really bad after a day or two so now we put him in the garage so that he's not peeing on the carpet anymore and he just howls the whole time he is out there. He would even howl in my room. The carpet looks absolutely terrible all over the house just after a couple weeks and it smells too. Being that he's 11 is it possible that it's a bladder control problem or is it more likely something to do with the move? When I talked to my husband's mom about this she said the dog had started peeing in the house over there once in a while before he moved over here so I don't know that it's completely related to the move. Any ideas?

I would start with taking him to the vet... he may have a uti.

We took him to the vet. He doesn't have any infections. I figured he didn't but wanted to be sure
