1991 Honda Civic Yes, I know it is an old car but when you are a single Mom with a 16 yr old daughter in need of transportation you get what you can afford even if you can't really afford it. Anyway, on the way to a volunteer job at the hospital a few days ago while going at about 70 mph her car lost power. She managed to get it off the road and it died. When her brother came and tried to help he got it started but it was running really rough. After turning it off it didn't want to start again. He found some oil in one spark plug area. The transmission dip stick was out also. We had it towed home and there it sits. Had a couple of guys look at it but they are befuddled. It would not start. After quite a bit of trying they got it started and said it was pouring out antifreeze from somewhere under the motor. Oh someone please help! Don't know what it is and neither did the guys - it was over their head. :-(

Not sure what you are saying was leaking just the anti freeze or oil too?
When it was running did they look under the hood to see if the oil or antifreeze was spraying out of anywhere to pinpoint if that is where the problem is?
My guess is it could be a hairline crack somewhere or bad seal gaskets somewhere
After it is fixed it might be a good idea to get a tune up done too.

If oil is fouling a plug the engine would run rough, called missing since I think you have a 4 cylinder it would be trying to run on 3 cylinders. The transmission fluid is also cooled by the antifreeze in the radiator so if you've lost fluid the transmission would overheat and that could burn up some transmission fluid. It looks like white smoke coming out the tailpipe. Burning oil looks like blue smoke. Try stop leak in the radiator, check all the hoses and put on a new radiator cap

Not sure where I'm suppose to be telling more about car but here goes for a try here. Anyway the Honda seemed to be running fine when my daughter was driving it. After it lost power she called me and I called her brother to meet me there to check on the car thinking - hopefully - that we could just get it going and be back on the road. No such thing. My son tried to start it and said it was hard to start and running rough when it did. We did not see anything like antifreeze coming out. He did find oil in one of the sparkplugs place. I had it towed home and another fellow checked it out and finally got it to start and told us it was pouring anti freeze out from underneath the car and that it was not the radiator area. He said motor area. I was not at home at the time so did not see it. Could it be a freeze plug, water pump, or cracked block? Several people with several opinions and the car still sits :-( Thanks for trying. I know it can't really be diagnosed without seeing it but was hoping someone would have some ideas to suggest to the shade tree mechanic (father of my daughter's boyfriend). Thanks! And God bless!
