I have a potting shed about 60 feet from my back door. I want to wire it and then post
2 to 4 electrical outlets for outdoor use on my privacy fence near the shed. (within 50 feet on either side of the shed).

Any ideas on how to do this without spending a million dollars?

Well, let's see, You are talking about using a subpanel or a multiwire branch circuit.

How much amperage do you need to pull off main panel? The amperage is needed so that we can determine the size of the cable between the main panel and the potting shed. Also, you need to add a light in the potting shed and at least one GFCI outlet.

The outside outlets should not be all that difficult to run, other that using direct bury cable. I would suggest that you use #12/2 UF cables for these.

Yould could get by with 60 Amps, and would probably be fine, if any future growth is expected, you may want to wire for 100 Amps. Also, maybe have 3 way switching and lights on shed and house. Don't forget Water, alarm, intercomm, phone, computer??
