Hi could anyone give me the recipe for love cake that is sold in greggs bakery please tried all kinds if sites but no one seems to know how to bake it. I think it used to be in a bero cookery book my nan used to have years ago but doesn't seem to be in now.its like a shortbread mixture but more softer & has jam in the middle.

Jam Dotted Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients:

6 oz butter, at room temperature

1 cup sugar

1 egg, at room temperature

2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Good quality jam
Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350. Grease a cookie sheet (or two if small) with butter. Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and beat until smooth. Add baking powder and flour, mix to form a thick dough. Roll into small 1 1/2 inch balls. Place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheet. With your spoon or a fingertip, make a shallow dent in the top of each cookie. Fill with a tiny bit of jam. Bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Allow to cool on wire racks.

To be perfectly honest I doubt gregs bake them they will come in frozen and they will heat them through.
As for the bero cookbook you might want to look at my thred on it https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/cooking/ it's a very old recipe book and to be perfectly honest you will be whistling in the wind but there may be one lady in that thred that can help.
