We are moving to Ontario, Canada from Alberta Canada, but spend winters in Arkansas.Currently we have part B medicare coverage in the USA and will have OHIP coverage from Ontario when we get moved there. Is it redundant for us to be paying for part B medicare when we have out of province for 7 months a year from the Ontario government system?

I would hang on to the medicare for extra coverage because if something happens to either one of you, OHIP will not cover you in the USA and you will have to fly back to Ontario to be treated. If it is a life threatening situation, it could be distastrous. If the two of you are seniors your OHIP coverage is pretty well paid for. You know about that, so you will not be losing out while paying extra for the Medicare.
