If you been following my story, I wanted to ask on a separate post about something else. Each time I turn on the bath faucet a spurt of rusty/dirty water comes up before the water clears again. This is not a lot but it has been happening every time ever since I replaced this faucet.
What could be causing this? It only happens on the bath faucet and not others!

I would suppect the water heater or galvanized piping if it affected the entire house. Does it show up in both hot and cold? How old is your house? We used to use galvanized nipples to connect the spout to the valve body. That would explain it. When you replaced the faucet was any galvanized pipe involved? Anywhere? Regards, Tom

I used an iron pipe nipple just like the one I had on there only that I had to get a shorter one for this new spout.

If you changed the galvanized stub-out nipple then that means that you still have a old galvanized "drop nipple" and elbo coming out of the bottom of your faucet. My guess's that the rust is coming from those or perhaps a galvanized supply. Good luck, Tom

What it sounds like is that you have galvanized piping in your house. When you replaced the shower valve you disturbed some rust built up in the pipe walls of the supplies and the rust is working its way out of the system. My bet is that in time it will disappear. Good luck, Tom

I will leave it alone for awhile then and see if it goes away.
