I'm trying to find out how much it would cost to get my wisdom teeth removed... two of them are still under the gums and growing in at an angle, so they would have to be surgically removed, but the other two have broken the surface. My insurance pays 80% which is cool, but that 20% could still be a lot! Any ideas?

Alicia,

You would have to go see an oral surgeon for an estimate. Every state and/or province has different fees. The two that are not impacted will cost less to remove than the two that are. It will also depend if you want to be awake or asleep when they are removed. The cost of general anaesthetic is always extra. If you have a current x-ray of all your wisdom teeth you can take it (which will save you the cost of another xray) to 2 or 3 oral surgeons to see if there is much difference in cost.

I have a plan that pays 80%. All 4 of my wisdom teeth were impacted and needed to be surgicly removed. I was placed under a local... my out of pocket was $470... well worth it if they're causing you pain.
