Okay, here's my question... I have a Standard Sewing Machine from Cleveland, Ohio circa 5/1894 as indicated on part of the sewiing machine near the needle. It is in a cabinet, with a cover for the actual sewing machine. There is also a repair kit from Toof's attachments for Standards. EJ Toof, New Haven, CT.

I bought it about 20 years ago... It is in good condition, but probably should be refinished. I'd like to sell it and get the most I can. What can I expect?? Top dollar to low end??

Thank you! Susan McFall

That is a good question that people ask that never seems to get an $ amount answer.
I have searched the internet and haven't found the answer.
I do know that an antique dealer will tell you it is only worth a few dollars and sentimental value and turn around and sell it for $100 -$150.
The best way to get money for it is find a collector that wants it.

That year that you see on the machine might not actually be the date of manufacture, but the date that a patent was issued. Do you know what the serial number is on the machine? Also, is the machine currently functional as a sewing machine? The fact that it has a tool kit to go with it could help in bringing up the monetary value some.
