It all depends on your input facilities.
You say that your laptop has a "line in socket head phone and mic socket".

Is that a real line "in" with audio input , headphone output , and mic. Socket (1) , or a line "in" with headphone output and mic. Socket (2)?

In (1) it is easy : just connect the cassette deck to the audio input.
In (2) it's more difficult : as there is no audio level input, all you can do is to use the microphone input.
But as a microphone signal is much smaller than an audio signal (and the input circuitry is made for such a small signal , you have to attenuate the signal : prepare a three resistors attenuation circuit that matches the cassette recorder audio signal to the mic. Input circuitry of your laptop. You have to test a little with the laptop input connection : use either point b or c, depending on the best sound quality you get.

If you keep problems, let me know, please.

Resistor 1 = 50 K Ohm
Resistor 11 = 10 K Ohm
Resistor 111 = 100 Ohm

Connect output to either point B or C, whatever is best !
