Okay, this is going to sound a little strange but, I tell you it's a freak chance of luck. I had been having a rough time with my finances as of my last layoff. I have been looking for a job since November and it has been no luck yet. I went on numerous interviews and even close to been hiring 3 times.
Anyway, I was falling behind on my truck payments. I called the lien holder to get an deferment. I was told I would be granted one and that my next payment would be April. The whole time through the phone calls of being on hold and listening to the threating threats, it was reported on my credit after making my payment as a charge-off. Once I saw it on my report I began to call again and found out that it was done and not to be reversed. I was then told by a representative of the lien company, to keep in touch and try to settle for a reasonable price. I had over $10,000 in accessories/equipment added to sell the vehicle. Never did I receive a letter of anything or actions being taken so, I thought payments being made were okay. In the earlier part of this week, that vehicle was parked in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Stolen the vehicle would be as I return to it. Do I wish I could take that day back. After police reports and insurance claims were done, here I stand.
I made a claim through my insurance agency and they began their process. After maybe three weeks it was found miles away from where I live. The problem that comes is that the lien holder says the vehicle was being repossessed and can't be turn over to me. I have spoken with the police officer and they have this guy as a witness saying that I gave him the vehicle. I plan to press charges against the guy for that. My insurance agency however, states even though I provided all my receipts and etc, they will not pay my claim.
Can someone help me with this with advise? I want to keep my vehicle if possible but, I know that will be hard to do so. Also, the money would be HUGE if I could get it from my accessories/equipment.
