Everything you eat, your baby eats. No alcohol, smoking, start drinking decaf coffee. Basically eat as healthy as you can. Oh and look up fish. I seem to remember you're not supposed to eat a lot of some types of fish. Exercising will help, especially with getting back to your desired size after the fact. Go to the doctor for prenatal care, take whatever vitamins you're supposed to, and don't take any medicine unless you know if/how it will affect the baby. I don't know what your job is, but after a while you won't be able to lift heavy things, etc. Best of luck.

Eat healthy home cooked meals and avoid junk food-not that you can't eat junk food but it would be healthier for the baby.
Take prenatal vitamins and see the doctor.
You should be careful lifting and strenuous activities.

Hey I have to say that I am very excited for you because I have 2 children of my own and they are the best... But here are some things my doctors told me when I was pregnant... Not to eat cold lunch meats right out of the pack... that if you like to make you a sandwich and you like you ham or turkey cold to heat it up first and then let it cool back down... the reason why is because the meat right out of the pack can have bacteria on it that could harm the baby... Then of course you should know no drugs, drinking, or smoking in which I done none of... and just to be cautious on what you do because in the early stages of pregnancy are the most critical... not to scare you or anything... but... I have heard of people falling off stairs and losing their babies... then you kind of might want to watch the sweets and stuff you eat because if you eat to many you can develop gestational diabetes which can make you and your baby gain lots of weight because I had it with my first child and I gained 80pds and she was a good 8pds 3ozs when she was born... And one last thing... The whole epidural when you go to have your baby thing... I had it with my first and not with my second and although it hurt while having my baby the second pregnancy.. I didn't hurt no where near as bad afterwards with it then I did with my first...

What type of work do you do?

Drink plenty of fluid, avoid caffeine drinks( including soda and coffee tea is best), tried eating less of fried food, eat as much fruit as possible(at least 5 per day), and don't eat the followings:

Soft cheeses that're not made in the US and certain deli meats. The reason is because some foods can become contaminated with bacteria called Listeria. The soft cheese made in the US are made from pasteurized milk (pasteurization kills the Listeria organism.)If you become sick from Listeria, the baby you're carrying could get sick or worse case scenario it could be fatal. Eat eat hard cheeses instead of soft cheeses and cooked meats while you are pregnant. Avoid feta, brie, camebert and blue-veined cheese like Roquefort, etc.

Raw meat such as sushi, seafood, rare or uncooked beef, or poultry because of the risk of contamination with coliform bacteria, toxoplasmosis, and salmonella.

Raw eggs, or foods containing raw egg such as Caesar dressing, mayonnaise, homemade ice cream or custard, unpasteurized eggnog, or Hollandaise sauce because raw eggs may be contaminated with salmonella.

Soft cheese such as blue cheese, feta, Brie, Camambert, and Latin-American soft white cheeses such as queso blanco and queso fresco because they may harbor harmful bacteria.

Fish containing accumulated levels of mercury in their fatty tissues such as shark, swordfish, king mackerel, tilefish. When a pregnant woman consumes large amounts of mercury, her baby may suffer brain damage resulting in developmental delays (for example, delays in learning to walk or talk).

Fish containing high levels of an industrial pollutant called polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in their fatty tissues such as bluefish and striped bass, and freshwater fish such as salmon, pike, trout, walleye from contaminated lakes and rivers.

Check with your local Health Department to determine which fish in your area are safe to eat.

It is possible they are just related to your pregnancy (as in not a bad thing), but if you are concerned, don't hesitate to go to your doctor. You can't be too careful you know. Best of luck.

Sorry I didn't understand that.. I read that the baby's heart beat has started and I was amazed lol... I was trying for I think about 3 month and it just does take time.. I was really down thinking it would never happen but it will. What we did was from the day I came of my last period we had sex at least once a day. So that the sperm was always in my body to do as it should... I would like to thank someone on here because they give me that advice :D.. I hope these pains are nothing though

Probably. If he/she can't, they will probably send you to a specialist to find out, at least if they think it might be something to worry about. Just don't stress out about it until you know that something is actually wrong, or you might cause more problems for yourself than it's worth (I've heard of people miscarrying for reasons related to stress). Good luck, and I hope you get a clean bill of health.

Be careful about foods with raw eggs. Also if you have an indoor cat at home make sure someone else cleans the litter box for you because cat feces has harmful bacteria in it that can be very harmful to the baby. Depending on where you work don't handle any kind of toxic cleaners and there are some glues that are toxic as well. I do know that elmers glue is safe. Also I believe it is recommended not to lift more than 20 pounds while pregnant but don't quote me on that. You might want to ask Doc about that. Good luck with your pregnancy and the new bundle of joy when it arrives.

Thank you for your advice.. I am trying to take it easy but as a carer that isn't going down to well at work... im still doing every thing I should but lifting, and moving the heavy people on the hoist... which I think is a fair thing to refuse to do...

The pains in your belly are probably normal. Your uterus is going through a lot right now I wouldn't worry too much if there is not any bleeding but definitely tell you Dr. Good Luck and Congratulations

Pregnant women shouldn't lift more than 10 pounds.

It's very normal to feel tired and irritable. If you can, sneak in extra sleep when possible. Take naps in the day, go to bed a little earlier than normal, catch up on some sleep on the weekends. Be sure you are eating well and if need be, take a prenatal vitamin for extra insurance that you are getting the nutrients that you should be. You will likely find your energy level, just like your appetite, will go back and forth throughout the pregnancy.

brazilia thanks for your comment.. however the dr didn't tell me what I should or shouldn't do.. other wise I wouldn't of asked on here would I? And my unsureness has nothing to do with being a teenager, especially as I am 20.. it is to do with me not knowing what's happening because I never been in this situation before and because I haven't been told things... again thank you for your comment :)

Sometimes doctors go through their script, not knowing what you do and don't know. I would start making a list of questions. Every time you think of a new one, write it down. Take this list to your next doctor's appointment with you.

If you need a quicker answer, ask here and we will answer to the best of our abilities and knowledge.

If you don't want to participate in a discussion then don't. Your rude comment isn't at all welcome. If you keep this up you won't last long. Read the rules and regulations before you continue, and try to be more respectful in the future. Thank you.

To the OP, congratulations on your pregnancy. Just take it easy, eat right and take your prenatal vitamins. It is normal to be tired, your body is going through allot, most women find that they get a burst of energy during the second trimester, and then start feeling tired again during the third. So rest when your tired, you body isn't wrong. :)

Good luck.

Cramps could be from dehydration. Drink lots of water
