1)d - 1 > -3 and d + 2 < 5

2) -3k + 7 > -5 and -7k + 5 < -2

3) -5 < 2y - 3 < 23

4) x - 4 < 5 or x + 2 > 15

5) 5x - 4 > 6 or -4x + 5 > 1

1) Solve them separately first, d>-3+1, d>-2 and d<5-2, d<3
Therefore, d>-2 and d<3, simplify, -2<d<3

2) Can you do that now?

3) -5 <2y-3 <23 add 3 everywhere: -2<2y<26
Divide by two everywhere: -1<y<13

4) & 5) Same as method as 1)
