I have this very pungent odor in my kitchen. I think it is coming from sink drain. I have poured pine sol; detergent and still the smell come back. Has anyone found a home remedy for this?

Before we start taking apart the pipes lets try a recipe I got from mom. Mix 1/2 cup table salt with 1/2 cup baking soda and dump in the drain, now follow with a cup of vinegar and let sit over night. Dump a full bucket of very hot water down the drain and tell us how it worked.
