Hello world!

I have a shabby chic, new that looks antique, kind of girly style in my apartment and want to buy an old wooden dresser and repaint it. How do I make it look old and worn, without looking dingy? I know that I want to paint it dark brown, other that that I'm lost.

Paint it, then rub the paint in the various place with sndpaper to give it that worn lok.
