He's 5 years old and got dtap, polio, mmr, and chicken pox vaccines yesterday.
Today his upper arm is red and hot to the touch.
I called his doctor but they have a message on their machine that says they won't be returning calls until Monday and if it's an emergency go to the ER.
So, I called the health dept since he got the shots there.
They told me to give him Advil, which I did but it's still the same.
He has had these shots before w/o any reactions so I was concerned, but
The health dept said it was normal and not to worry.
However, everything I'm reading online about this is freaking me out and it may not even be accurate info.
He's acting fine, his skin is just red and hot.
I don't want to over react so is it normal or not?
If so what causes it to be red and hot?
Thanks

Normal. Just give a little tylenol and keep an eye on it.
