Hi, I need some help! I want to know were I stand in court! My friend owes me a lot of money which I lent her on many occasions, she made excuses on what the money was for like paying of debts and it turns out it wasn't! I feel I was bullied into lending her the money as she threatened me time and time again that she would kill herself if she didn't get the money of me! I kept record of the money she owed me and the excuses she said, she even signed it twice to say she agreed to pay me back the money in full and was fully aware of this then and now! Since then I've asked for the money back and she won't give it to me, all I've got is abusive fone calls and texts messages, I don't know what to do, I'm on the verge of losing everything.. help!

How much is the total?

Depending on the amount, you can sue her in small claims court, and if the evidence you mentioned, signed agreement to repay that amount, you will most likely prevail.

Then, you have to figure out how to collect the judgment if you are awarded one.

Check the limit on small claims cases in your jurisdiction in relation to the amount she owes you.

Without a written agreement how do we take claims to court? What if the have something of value of what they owe can we exchange that for amount owed?
